Minister says Russia may prolong ban on buckwheat exports
YEATERINBURG, Aug 12 (PRIME) -- The Agriculture Ministry does not rule out that Russia may prolong a prohibition on buckwheat exports, Minister Dmitry Patrushev said on Thursday.
"Under the current order of the government, buckwheat exports are limited through August 31. It's important to keep the availability of socially important products further on, this is why we do not rule out that we may prolong the restrictions, depending on the harvesting campaign," Patrushev said.
The harvest is expected to increase as sowing area was extended 12% to 976,000 hectares.
